ABOUT WENDY HUGHES
Australian stage and screen actress who played leading roles in such 1970s and 1980s films as My Brilliant Career and Echoes of Paradise.
She studied ballet as a child and went on to train as an actor at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington, Australia.
She earned a 1983 Australian Film Institute award for her role in Careful, He Might Hear You.
Over the course of her three marriages -- to actors Sean Scully and Chris Haywood and chef Patrick Juillet -- she had two children.
She worked with director Paul Cox on many projects, including the 1982 movie Lonely Hearts.
