R&B singer known for his albums Love, Lust, & Lies: An Audio Novel, Soul Symphony, and the grammy-nominated All the Man You Need. He's recorded albums with the likes of Kool & The Gang, Jennifer Holiday , and Billy Ocean .

He attended Virginia Union University and spent time singing with the group Wally 'Jump' Junior. He released his self-titled debut album was released in 1988.

In 2006, he was diagnosed with polymyositis, which confined him to a wheelchair and caused him to lose 100 during his recovery. He's served as a spokesperson for the American Stroke Association.

He married Audrey Wheeler, his second wife, and has three children.

He recorded Pleasures of the Night with Gerald Albright in 1998.
