ABOUT WILL DURANT

Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and historian who co-wrote an eleven-volume work called The Story of Civilization. His other notable works include The Story of Philosophy and Pleasures of Philosophy.

He worked as a reporter for the New York Evening Journal following his graduation from Saint Peter's College in 1907.

He and his wife received a Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction in 1968 for the tenth volume of their co-written series, The Story of Civilization.

He had a daughter, Ethel, with his wife and co-author, Ariel Durant .

He won the Pulitzer Prize two years before Norman Mailer received the same honor.
