ABOUT WILLIAM DAVIDSON

Detroit-born businessman known for being the President, Chairman, and CEO of glass manufacturer Guardian Industries. He was the owner of several American sports teams, including the Detroit Pistons, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

He was a member of the track and field team at the University of Michigan in 1940.

As of 2014, he is the only owner to have a team win an NBA championship and a Stanley Cup, the highest prize in the NHL, in the same year.

He was married 4 times and had 2 children.

His Detroit Pistons team, under the leadership of point guard Chauncey Billups , won the NBA Championship in 2004.
