ABOUT WILLIAM LANIER

Hall of Fame middle linebacker known for his time with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He played college football at Morgan State University, where he was MVP of the Tangerine Bowl.

He was given the nickname Contact by his Chiefs teammates because of his aggressive tackling style.

He married Mabre Lanier in 1972.

He won Super Bowl IV under head coach Hank Stram .
