Xabier Prieto Argarate
ABOUT XABIER PRIETO ARGARATE
Retired Spanish professional soccer player who spent his entire career with Real Sociedad, mostly as a midfielder.
He came up through Real Sociedad's youth system. He joined their school program at 16 and spent time on loan with local amateurs CD Hernani. He made his senior debut in 2002, and his La Liga debut in 2003.
He played one year for the Spanish Under 21 national team. But he spent most of his international career playing for the Basque Country national team.
He married Amaya Magaña in 2011. In 2021, the two ran in the 20K Behobia-San Sebastián race.
During his time with Sociedad, he played alongside Xabi Alonso and for British manager David Moyes .
