ABOUT XU MING
Chinese entrepreneur and billionaire best known for being the founder of conglomerate Dalian Shide Group as well as the chairman of the premier football club, Dalian Shide F.C. After being accused of corruption in 2012, he was arrested and sentenced to four years in prison. While incarcerated, he passed away from what was reported to be a heart attack at the age of 44.
He obtained a master's degree from the Shenyang Institute of Aeronautical Engineering before also earning an MBA from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. He began his professional career by working for the Foreign Economic and Trade Commission of Zhuanghe.
With an estimated net worth of over $1.05 billion, he was named by Forbes as the eighth-richest person in China in 2005.
He was born to parents Xu Shengjia and Yu Guizhen.
