He was a former tight end with the University of Alabama football team and won back-to-back National Championships.

Outside of surfing, he is a fan of numerous other extreme sports.

He's an Arizona native, but he later moved to Los Angeles, California.

He is friends with fellow social star and surfer Eros Exarhou .
